COMING SOON |

This is the local Merkis
Palms newspaper, and we'll have more about it soon (we hope!).
|
 |
Yeah, Yeah, We Know... |
OK, we fully recognize that there
are those of you reading this page who, even though there are no copies of
the newspaper posted here (as yet), are gonna say, "Hey, what's with
this 'Daily Weekly' stuff? That name doesn't make
sense."
Ah...but...just maybe... it
does..or...you be the judge.
Here's the explanation, such as
it is. There's only ONE staff member for the paper, Morton
Moneypacker, and he wears all the hats.
-
He
is the reporter who collects the news (he gets a lot of it from
Percival Heavens, whom you can read about on our Special
Features Page).
-
He
does the writing (using his old Underwood manual
typewriter).
-
He
does the editing (using a #2 pencil).
-
He
does the lay-out (using paper paper-and-glue to visualize, then back
to the typewriter to type up the stencils).
-
He
does the mimeographing (using his 1957 A.B. Dick Mimeograph
Machine).
-
He
does the distribution (using his 1956 Schwinn "Spitfire"
bicycle).
-
He
does the whole shebang.

And
now YOU know... |
Wanna guess how long that
takes? Yep, takes a week. SO...the paper comes out daily, BUT
what's in it is a week old. SO...It's called the "Daily
Weekly." That makes sense, doesn't it??? |
